If not for you; babe, I couldn’t even find the door.

Play With Fire - Virgin Velcro
Jeeeeeesus. I went digging through my external hard drive tonight looking for lord knows what and I found this. This is Virgin Velcro’s cover of Play With Fire. The reason why I can’t believe that I found this is because Virgin Velcro was Monty and I in Monty’s basement (see picture above).
It’s just two guys in a basement with headphones on strumming away to an awesome song. We’re pretty proud of it to be honest. If you think it’s a pile of turd, well, we won’t stop you—we’ll still love our attempt just the same.
Love love love driving beats like this and jangly, atmospheric guitars.
Weird video aside, this Floyd cover is incredible. Dwyer reminded me that I still have the EP this song is from. The EP belongs to him, but like most things I borrow from Dwyer, he never really gets them back.
The New English EP page on Wikipedia—and album track listings—suggest that the song is recorded live. We’re not sure if that means like concert live or studio live. My money is on the tune being studio live.
Either way, once you’re roaring down the highway, I highly suggest you play this. Turn it up nice and loud, too.
